Gravesend Christmas Market
Established in 2014, Gravesend’s annual Fayre on the Square has proved to be one of the council’s most successful Christmas events attracting shoppers from across and outside the county.
Now with the transformation of the refurbished indoor borough market, we embark on a new era for the annual festive market and see how it’s gone from thriving to reviving.
The Christmas event has expanded from the indoor market to the outside of the Market in the Undercroft and on The Pier Square outside the Riva Restaurant and Pier, the Mug and Meeple and the Three Daws Pub. There will be an amazing Santa’s Grotto in the garden of the Riva and children can write and send their letters to Santa. The theme for the day is Elves and Candy Canes and we hope lots of our shoppers will join our vendors in dressing up for this special occasion.
The event will also mark the grand re-opening of the Gravesend Borough Market and is on Saturday 3 December. The doors will open at 10am and close at 6pm. There will be musical performers reflecting the festive aspect of the day but also music from the eras when the market was at its peak.
Hatten Wyatt will be sponsoring the Land Train that will bring shoppers from Windmill Street down into the High Street and there are lots of surprises planned throughout the day.
