Now in its 5th year, we’re proud to say that Munchies on the Meadow is one of Kent’s biggest and best food festivals, with over 4,000 visitors and more than 80 local producers, suppliers and artisans, as well as local entertainers and bands throughout the day.
This is a fantastic day out for all the family, sponsored by Fine and Country North Kent. The food and drink available is top quality and deliciously local – with pies, cakes, beer, jams, chocolate, spirits, meat, ice cream, fudge and much more. Some of the many stallholders include Cobham Community Stores, Kent Chilli Farm, The Hog Father, Dine Thyme, Simply No Gluten, Mum’s Bakery, Kentish Stores, Nelson Brewery, Kentish Pieman, Dulce’s Patisserie, ME’N’U Catering and Events, The Little Bridge Pizza and Nip from the Hip. If you haven’t been before, you’re in for a treat!
As well as the food, there are bands performing throughout the day, plus there’s a free craft corner, a mini beast hunt, and cookery demonstrations and talks: something to keep everyone entertained.
For the keen bakers and brewers, there is the Munchies Bake Off and Home Brew Champion competitions. This year’s categories for the Bake Off are Best Junior Baker (bread or cakes) for those aged 12 or under, Best Bread (any variety, ages 13+) and Best Victoria Sponge (ages 13+). For the Home Brew Champion competition, enter your Best Ale or Best Wine. Bring your entries to the competition tent between 11.30am and 2.30pm. Bake Off judging is at 3pm and Home Brew at 5pm.
Entry is just £2 for adults, with children under 12 for free. Keep an eye on the website for updates and information, and to pre-order tickets: www.munchiesfestival.com.
All profits go towards the £80,000 we need to raise to replace the enormous windows on our beautiful 19th century village hall, which was donated to the village in 1953.
