St George's Church open to visitors
As part of the Pocahontas 400 celebrations St George’s Church will open its doors to visitors on
Thursdays between 2pm and 4pm with volunteers welcoming and taking visitors around.
Earth’s Only Paradise: London and the Jamestown Settlement
Hazel Forsyth is Senior Curator of Post-Medieval History at the Museum of London. In 2007 Hazel was involved in commemorations to mark the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in America, with an exhibition in London, followed by loans to the Jamestown-Yorktown settlement.
Local historian Sandra Soder takes you on this special Pocahontas walk – commemorating 400 years Pocahontas has been in Gravesend. Meet at the Pocahontas Statue for 11am (St George’s Church).
