Liz Bylett – Follies Artworks
Heritage Arch – Batik flower installation
20th June – 30 September 2021

Liz was one of three local artists to be awarded a ‘Make It’ arts grant this year and has created a beautiful cascading flower installation using the art of batik to bring depth and vibrancy to her designs. Liz is a local artist with a wealth of creative experience spanning over 30 years, she has used the changes that the pandemic has brought about to explore many other artistic genres and is delighted to be taking part in this year’s Blooming Lovely Festival.

Nicola Flower
Flowers that Heal – Milton Chantry
24 July – 26 September (Weekends Only 12noon – 5pm)

Funded through the ‘Make it’ arts grants, local artist Nicola Flower has made a textile hanging for the Tudor room at Milton Chantry, the theme of the hanging is ‘Flowers that heal and pollinating bees’. The hanging is inspired by the Chantry’s 700 year history as a hospital, place of religion, Inn and barracks. The work will evoke a sense of healing following our collective experience of the current pandemic, healing is enhanced by our engagement with creativity, whether we are viewing art or making it.

To stimulate the senses, Nicola has also infused the piece with fresh lavender and the beautiful bees were created by members of the community.

The hoardings are available for all to see and enjoy, the colours and images conjure up wonderful thoughts of hot, lazy summer days, beautiful nature walks and wildlife spotting.
