Name of Workshop: Gingko Leaf Painting
Description: Join artist Callisto Searle for gingko leaf painting. Participants will be introduced to the art of gingko leaf painting and get a chance to practise on paper before being given 2 leaves to decorate and stick to a coloured backing if they wish to.
Gingko leaves are not native to the UK, although they are more common in recent years and are known for turning a beautiful rich yellow colour in autumn, as well as their interesting and unique shapes, no two are the same!
The resilient texture makes these leaves ideal for painting and crafts. They dry and do not go mouldy but retain enough flexibility to not be brittle and can be handled with confidence.
Paintings on gingko leaves aren’t commonly seen outside of China.
