Join Birdwise North Kent to welcome amazing migratory birds back to our coast for the winter season and help us to find out what species can be found on our North Kent coastline between Gravesend and Whitstable.
This walk is being held at Higham Marshes. Meeting by the Little Peckers cafe at the end of Canal Road at 1pm, we will walk out to the sea wall and set up the scope to watch the birds coming in to feed as the tide rises.
Suitable for all the family including beginners, our Rangers will help with identification as we record the birds we see. Well behaved dogs are also welcome, but they must be kept on a lead to avoid disturbing the birds. If you have binoculars, please remember to bring them but don’t worry if not as you can have a look through our scope.
There is free parking but please note there are no toilet facilities on this walk. It will be on uneven ground with a couple of stiles to climb over so may be unsuitable for people with limited mobility.
It is free to attend our events but spaces are limited so please book your space. This also ensures we have your contact details in case we need to change anything. You will receive a confirmation email when you book and joining instructions will be sent the day before the walk – https://northkent.birdwise.org.uk/events/great-coastal-birdwatch-higham/
