Name of Workshop: Lantern making workshop and walk
Description: August 22nd is a folk festival in the Chinese calendar. It falls on the 7th day of the 7th month of the lunar calendar and coincides with a full moon. Traditionally a festival for lovers, the Chinese Valentine’s Day, it was also a time for families to get together and go out and enjoy the moon.
Taking inspiration from this, join artist Callisto Searle for a hour and half workshop creating paper lanterns before walking down to the Riverside at Bawley Bay with the lanterns you have made.
A workshop for adults and children to attend together with the choice of making a paper strip lantern or a more accomplished lotus flower pattern. Battery lights will be provided for the lanterns.
