Name of Workshop: Magpie Bridge Lovers Festival Embroidery Circle
Description: Participants will be introduced to this traditional Chinese festival before being offered templates of simple design elements to choose from. You’ll then be asked to cut them from felt and pin them to colourful, floral patches of cotton. Participants are also invited to bring their own pieces to personalise the work. The felt elements will be sewn to the backing material with a simple running stitch. Advanced sewers can use blanket stitch or any other stitches to embellish the work. There will also be a needle-threading contest to honour the festival and the winner gets a small, sewing-related prize.
