With a 13th century church of St Peter and St Paul, the Rose and Crown Public House and higher ground in the area it offers fine views across the Thames valley to Essex and London.

Shorne Wood Country Park, Kent’s most popular country park, lies to the south of the village of Shorne and is easily accessible from the A2. It affords many good walks and is a perfect spot for the less adventurous with picnic and play areas, trim trail and orienteering, fishing, way-marked trails and there is an Easy Access Trail suitable for prams and wheelchairs. The Visitor Centre, with its shop and café, is an excellent place to start your visit and begin to explore the countryside linked with wider access to Cobham Park and Jeskyns Community Woodland and Greenspace.
