I am a Londoner born and bred, but I have lived in Canterbury for over thirty years. Since retiring from teaching, I have taken up tourist guiding; I am a London Blue Badge Guide and a Green Badge Guide to Clerkenwell and Islington, the City of London, City of Westminster, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Canterbury. I am also a newly-qualified Gravesham guide.
I am fascinated by Gravesend and the surrounding areas. My main interests are the riverside and its heritage, the people associated with the borough and the literary connections. I was an English Literature teacher and librarian, so I feel at home dealing with writers. As a Londoner, I like to examine the links between the metropolis and North Kent.
I feel that guided walks should inform and also entertain, and I do like to look for the quirky and unusual!
