William Coles opened the Confectionery & Eating House that operated from the 1830s to the 1860s.
The usage of the building changed drastically and it was home to John Saunders, seller of comfortable, durable and stylish footwear from 1890 to 1902.
Another dramatic change occurred in 1905 when it became home to Henry Simmonds, an undertaker.
