CodeQuest Day Camp takes place on Monday 25th May.
During the CodeQuest Day Camp, students will take part in a range of engaging Computing and STEM activities designed to build confidence and creativity through hands-on learning.
In Minecraft Education, students will program the Agent to collect and analyse data about forest fires, exploring coding fundamentals while connecting to real-world applications of artificial intelligence. They will also experience a choose-your-own-adventure journey through key moments in human achievement, using sequences, events, loops, debugging, and algorithmic thinking to solve problems, prevent mishaps in time, and recognise the wide-ranging career opportunities linked to computer science.
In Scratch, students will design interactive computer games that use sensing to trigger changes, as well as create “Game Over” style projects that apply variables to track lives and scores. Through LEGO Essentials, they will build and program models such as a river ferry and a motorised taxi that moves, stops, and signals at set locations, while LEGO Prime challenges will include engineering a secure Safe Deposit Box with a motorised locking system and troubleshooting an “Out of Order” vending machine that dispenses items through coded commands. Across both days, students will strengthen their computational thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world engineering skills while embracing a positive and resilient coding mindset.
