The Forge has been a familiar landmark for Gravesenders for hundreds of years. It inspired Charles Dickens to write about it, as the blacksmith Joe Gargery's home in 'Great Expectations'. The original building dates back to the 17th century. The garden is a beautiful display of mature planting, lovely feature objects and a pond.
