Holy Moly featuring Donald Chegwin

19th October 2025

October's Holy Moly features the pleasingly offbeat Donald Chegwin, who will delight us with tales involving unusual nouns and a general sense of macabre unease. Often very funny though!

Donald Chegwin is a poet from Maidstone. He writes about animals, eggs, monsters and meals. His work has been published in Verve Press’s Why Poetry? anthology, along with various poetry zines and horror movie mags. He joined forces with a nano scientist to write about miniature swans for the annual Pint of Science festival.
Before Donald is the regular open mic. You are welcome to provide your own macabre unease with your spoken word, poetry, short stories, jumping out and saying "Boo" because it's almost Halloween etc.
No need to book a slot, just sign up on the night! Entry is free but you can support us with an optional ticket.
